Nicole is a native of northeast Nebraska. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Physical Therapy program, and has been practicing in the Omaha area for 19 years. Her specialty for many years was in sports physical therapy and she is Board Certified in Sports Physical Therapy through the APTA. Most recently she has focused on treatment of foot and ankle conditions, but still enjoys working with all types of patients. She has pursued extensive training and certification with specialty treatment techniques such as Graston Technique, Kiniseotaping, Myofascial Release, and Dry Needling. She currently resides in west Omaha with her husband Keith and two children. Outside of work time, she loves to be outside running, mountain biking or skiing. She is an avid educator on nutrition and wellness from the inside out. An oft-repeated quote is: “The body is remarkably capable at healing itself if you give it the appropriate tools to do so.” You will leave your experience here moving better, experiencing less pain, and with a better understanding of how the body works to keep it functioning for years to come.
Tessa Jansen graduated from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri with a clinical Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. She did her undergraduate studies at Wayne State College, where she earned a B.S. in Biology. While at Wayne she was a member of the Volleyball team and developed a lifelong love for sports. She continues to enjoy playing sand volleyball and staying active. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids, gardening, cooking, and painting. She also is a lifelong learner and frequently seeks to expand her clinical knowledge. Professionally, Tessa has 7+ years of experience in Orthopedic setting treating a variety of patient ages and conditions. She also has experience working at a pediatric clinic on weekends. She enjoys the challenges of being creative and thinking outside the box to provide treatments that are tailored to each unique individual. Tessa has additional training in Myofascial Release, IASTM (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization), Kinesiotaping, Whelton Myofascial Referral technique, and most recently is a Level 2 Dry Needling certified practitioner.
Mitch was born and raised in Nebraska. He attended school throughout Omaha and graduated from Clarkson College in 2008. He is married and has 2 boys. Mitch was able to travel and work in the upper northwest following graduation, but he and his wife decided to come back home to raise a family. As much as they loved Washington and Oregon, there is no place like Nebraska! He has worked with all ages and ailments ranging from athletes to home health care to skilled nursing facilities. Mitch joined the Foot and Ankle Specialists team in 2013. He has certifications and training in Graston Technique and Kinesio taping. Mitch takes great pride in his patient care and wants you to get better, but most of all, wants you to enjoy the process of healing.
Steve is an Omaha native who graduated from Clarkson College’s PTA program in 2016. He began his PT career here at Foot and Ankle Specialists, working as a Tech while he was a student. He assisted and was mentored by Nicole, Mitch, and Tessa for several years before becoming licensed himself. After graduation, he moved out of state and worked in multiple settings with a wide variety of patients. He has experience in Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Aquatic Therapy, Skilled-Nursing, and treating patients with Neurological disorders. Foot and Ankle Specialists has always felt like a family to Steve, he is happy to be back and apart of the team. He feels that he takes a very hands-on approach to rehabilitation. He has trained and taken courses in Manual Therapy to help people’s bodies move more efficiently and comfortably. In his personal life he enjoys travelling, boating, exercising and spending time with his family. He lives an active lifestyle and strives to help his patients become the best they can be, so that they can continue to do what they love as well.
